The King's (The Cathedral) School offers students a full and well-balanced academic curriculum, which supports the aspirations of students, parents and the School. Students receive lessons on Learning For Life (which includes PSHCE, Careers, Further and Higher Education) at all Key Stages. The National Curriculum is fully covered throughout Key Stages 2 to 4.
Our curriculum offers all students a full range of subjects at Key stage 3, providing the ideal preparation for GCSE-level work.
At GCSE, students study a core of subjects (Mathematics, English, Sciences and Religious Studies) and then choose three optional subjects to complete their curriculum. All Key Stage 3 subjects are available with the addition of Business Studies from GCSE.
In the Sixth Form, a wide range of subjects are available for A-Level study. Subjects which are in addition to those at GCSE are Psychology and Economics. Typically, students will choose 3 subjects to study at A-Level. All students follow a course on Research Studies, and an Extended Project Qualification is also available.
